Accessibility Statement

  1. Our commitment
This Modanomics accessibility statement outlines our commitment to making www.modanomics.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced in the Australian Government Digital Service Standard. Our goal is that every visitor to Modanomics can access and engage with our content regardless of their abilities or assistive technology.
  2. Measures we have taken
2.1 Modanomics accessibility statement — technical features
To support the Modanomics accessibility statement, we have implemented the following:
  • Alt text provided for all meaningful images, using descriptive language that conveys content and purpose
  • Logical heading hierarchy (H1 through H3) used consistently across all pages
  • Full keyboard navigation supported — all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
  • Visible focus indicators applied to all interactive elements for keyboard users
  • Colour contrast ratios meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text
  • All form inputs have programmatically associated labels
  • Skip-to-main-content link available at the top of every page
  • HTML lang attribute set to “en-AU” to assist screen readers
  • Video content is captioned and transcripts are provided where applicable
  • No content flashes more than three times per second (seizure safety)
    2.2 Testing
We test our site using screen readers (including NVDA and VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, and automated tools including WAVE and Google Lighthouse. We also test across common mobile devices and screen sizes.
  1. Known limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some limitations currently exist:
  • Some older archived content may not fully meet current accessibility standards — we are progressively updating these pages
  • Certain embedded third-party widgets (such as social media feeds) may not fully
conform, as they are outside our direct control
  • Some PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible — contact us
    to request an alternative format
